can you tell me if a "230V single phase air compressor can be run at my garage using 220v? i have seen some posts that say this is possible - but i want to be sure..... my house has an electric dryer that uses 220.... the ad for the compressor says it uses 230 - can i safely run this compressor on my 220 line? thanks for your help - if you need more info to answer - let me know......

Can't see a problem.

But bear in mind that there are compressors and there are BIG compressors. Just make sure the cable is capable of supplying sufficient cureent to yours.
