hello, i am buying an edwardian house. it has central heating but the surveyors report staes that the boiler is an "on demand gas boiler and it is situated in an outhouse", he also states that the rads should have thermostatic rad valves. will an on demand boiler without a hot water storage tank be a problem? if i replace it do i need a large boiler to cope? does it nedd to be out in the outhouse or can i resite it into a new kitchen and what sort of money am i looking at for a replacement. could you reccomend a make and model best wishes ken
NB the report also states that the incoming water pipe is "lead" and the water quality is being tested. what is the policy as far as replacement goes with lead pipes |

Your question cannot be answered with the information you give.
On demand (combi) would I have one, No I wouldn't.
Thermostatic valves and lots of controls, zoning etc is cost effective in most houses, depends on the size of the property, insulation quality etc.
I like boilers in outhouses, cellars etc.
You could always add an unvented cylinder to the existing boiler.
Need more information, on the size of the property, number of bathrooms etc, and the existing boiler make and model. |
