I have a small terraced house down a country lane in Spain. There is no mains gas.
The water is heated using a gas bottle and a heater that switches on when the water runs through it. Sometimes it can take a minute or so for the hot water to get through the tap. Although irritating that isn't the real problem.
Whenever we use a lot of hot water such as having a shower, the water goes cold very quickly (probaly 2-3 minutes). This doesn't make my wife very happy at all and also gets to me.
I have had a Brit plumber to it and a Spanish plumber to it. The first one could not have been a plumber as he hadn't a clue and the second, quite rightly in his own country, didn't speak English and my Spanish wasn't good enough to say what I am writing here.
So, I am trying to sort it myself when I go there at the end of the month.
Do you think it has anything to do with the exhaust gases? The top of the boiler is about 40cm from the ceiling. The exhaust pipe turns a shart left and goes horizontally through an outside wall. I have a feeling that the hot gases cannot escape quickly enough and after a few minutes the system shuts off. What do you think? If you agree, what can I do about it?
Cheers
