Hi All Plumbers and Heating Engineers

I have trouble with my central heating, the radiators have started to remain on and hot when the roomstat is turned down and even if the CH is OFF on the programmer. (They are only on though, when the "hot water only" is heating up.

There is a silver coloured box attached to the side of the tank in the airing cupboard with a sprung lever on the front of it, could this be anything to do with it?

If you have a 3 port valve thats 3 pipes in a T shape all going to a box type valve possibly the central heating port is not shutting off.

If you have this valve, turn on hot water only and feel all 3 pipes, if all are getting hot then this is the problem.

needs drain down and new valve.

First thing to do is get a tester and see if the white core in the cable that goes to the valve is live (240v) when the heating is turned off on the programmer.
