Please can you tell me why my kitchen light won't switch off !! I have to leave it on all the time because if I attempt to leave it in the "off" position it crackles and dims.
It is a three spot fitting, not a fluorescent tube, and is on a two way switch to another room, this also cannot switch it off.
Very bizarre, but I'd like to know if there is anything I can do to repair it.

Sounds like something is shorting out, so you need to get it checked
ASAP.

Vince is the resident sparkie and should be on later.

One of the two switches is defective and will need replacing.
Get some body (recomended if poss) to replace it.

Sid.
I guess you have changed a light and not written down what wire went where. Embarassed

Without a test meter or simple continuity meter it is going to be hard to find out which Black is the return switch live from the switch. Sad

Do you have a tester or know anybody who has one and knows how to use it Question
