Please can you tell me why my kitchen light won't switch off !! I have to leave it on all the time because if I attempt to leave it in the "off" position it crackles and dims.
It is a three spot fitting, not a fluorescent tube, and is on a two way switch to another room, this also cannot switch it off.
Very bizarre, but I'd like to know if there is anything I can do to repair it. |

Sounds like something is shorting out, so you need to get it checked
ASAP.
Vince is the resident sparkie and should be on later. |

One of the two switches is defective and will need replacing.
Get some body (recomended if poss) to replace it.

Sid.
I guess you have changed a light and not written down what wire went where.
Without a test meter or simple continuity meter it is going to be hard to find out which Black is the return switch live from the switch.
Do you have a tester or know anybody who has one and knows how to use it
