Hi,

This has probably been discussed before but am new TO the site today. The overflow pipe is dripping from the header tank in the loft into the back garden. I have installed a new ballcock (which didn't help) and last night bent the bar on the ballcock to lower the cutoff point but to avail. This means the water can only be coming in from a vertical pipe which looks like it feeds from the other small tank situated on a higher shelf. I have realised that you may need to know what boiler I have so will advise tomorrow. In the meantime, are you able to help from the information provided?

Regards and thank you.

C

How many tanks in the loft? Two? How many overflow pipes? One? If this is the case, perhaps the smaller header tank (for heating) overflows into the larger tank (for hot water and possibly upsatirs cold water). If this is the case, change float valve in the other tank (higher one, header tank for heating).

You have two tanks a big one and a smaller one, which is the highest, which one is overflowing, and is the ballvalve running in the higher one.
