Can anyone tell where to download the manual for a Grundig GDS2000 Satellite receiver. I have tried the main Grundig website but they don't hold the manuals for older equipment. any suggestions will be gratefully accepted. [within reason of course] Thanks in anticipation. |

Hi again
I had a good old search but couldn't find a manual for that device, sorry
This link gives 'general' instructions on sat device configuration and phone numbers for Sky services and free channels etc. http://www.mces.co.uk/Info.htm
I stumbled across a reference to a book called "Digibox - Missing Manual" which can be purchased for £1.25 from here http://www.the-cool-book-shop.co.uk/book.htm Not exactly sure how good it would be but if you are really desperate I wonder whether gambling £1.25 is an option!?
Cheers
Nick
PS. Congratulations on winning the bidding for this on e-Bay |

Hi Nick, heres a poser for you! Is it possible to buy or obtain a 'Remote controlled dual scart socket adapter'
I run a boarding cattery, and we have the usual security camera set-up which is connected to a dvd recorder. The recorder is a Pioneer DVR420H. and it has only one input and one output scart socket, the Sky box is connected via the front input [drop down flap reveals s-video and yellow red and white sockets for cable connection] I would prefer it if we could have the Sky box connected via the scart socket on the rear without having to get out of the chair to switch recording preferences on a manual twin socket. The security camera is a MUST, and we can record at the touch of a button. we always switch it on when we go out to make sure we know who has approached the cattery, so a remote cntrld would be better... The camera is fitted with a scart -plug so I can't connect it to the DVD recorder any other way. Any ideas??? Regards ....Dai |

Hey Dai
Good news on your sat
It doesn't appear you would need a remote controlled scart socket as your DVD recorder has two scart sockets at the back, 1 is for input and the other is for both input and output (euro scart) - try and find a friend with a bi-directional scart lead (a fully wired one, else one with a switch on it which you can set at IN or OUT)
If you don't want to use your existing euro scart then Maplins do a great range of scart switches (ordered cheapest first!):
Manual: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=33166&criteria=scart&doy=14m3
Automatic (that switch when a feed is detected - i.e if you have your sat in port 1 and camera in port 2 it will record port 1 by default but when you power down your sat it will auto switch to port 2 which I assume will have your camera feed in it): http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L08BJ&DOY=14m3
Remote Controlled (it's a bit more than a scart switcher..): http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=220683&doy=14m3
Cheers, Nick |

Thank you for all that info Nick, I will be going to Maplins tomorrow in Swansea to buy the automatic switching scart.
It will definitely do the trick. Once again.......the man who knows ''Has come to the aid of the Party''.....Cheers ......Dai |
