I have just moved into a 1930's house with central heating powered by a Baxi back boiler that has just been serviced by Bgas who said that it was in good working order. We are a family of four and usually there is someone around most of the day at the moment so I have been leaving the CH/HW set to once which comes on about 4.30am and goes off 11.59pm

Thing is someone told me I should leave my immersion heater switched on all the time as well. Is this correct or am I juts paying to heat up the HW twice. The reason I ask is I have just had first elec bill for 2 months £140 for 4 bedroom semi? Reasonable I don't know.

No turn it off quick.

The immersion is for summer use, maybe, and backup when the boiler stops working.

If you have both on the immersion heater will be suplimenting the heating Shocked
