Hi, long time reader, first time poster here - I hope somebody can help.
I have a friend of a friend who has offered to act on my behalf in a pending legal case but somebody has advised me that, eventhough he consistently uses the phase "I'm a Lawer by trade", he isn't actually qualified - is there any way I can find out without him knowing that I'm checking up on hm ? |

Yes, all Solicitors have to be registered by law it actually costs about 20K a year.
A google should throw something up, I will look later tonight as well.
That was easy

Hi & Thanks for your help.
He doesn't seem to appear on any of these so I assume that this means either he has never been qualified or that he has stopped practising / renewing his registration.
Not that it really matters as I won't be using him now but I wonder whether there's any way I could find out whether he has EVER been a qualified solicitor or whether the whole things has been a fabrication from the start - would anyone know ?
I know my friend rely's on him quite a bit for advice and I wouldn't like her to be taken for a ride any longer if he's never been qualified.
Thanks again. |
