Hi

We have been having our house rewired starting on 28th August 2007.
We have not as yet been issued with a Part P certificate. Work has supposedly been tested.

The electrician said he was registered with the NIC but having contacted them they have no record of this.

He said he had contacted someone to move the meter from inside to an outside wall and he has told us they have been coming on about 10 different occasions. However he does not know who is coming.

I contacted EDF who own our meter and they have no record of a booking. It has been hanging off the wall since September.

We need completion of the job and have issued "time is of the essence"
letter as agreed with our Solicitor. The generous deadline was not met and we extended another and then yet another week. This was end of Nov beginning of Dec.

Could anybody offer any advice and/or what our next move should be - getting desperate!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance

Hi

I answered your concerns back in november last year.
He sounds like a real piece of work this bloke.
Contact building control and see if they will start proceedings agains him.
Also contact the NIC again and tell them he is trading under there banner but he is not registered with them.

Thanks Vince, that is a great help. We were told last week that the meter would be moved on the 9th but - he got the date wrong! Should be Wednesday 16th now. He has got until that date and then we will take your advice.

Thanks again - much appreciated
