I have removed 5 x MR16 low voltage 50 w lights and transformers and tried to fit 5 x GU10 50 w 240 volt lights in their place. 2 problems:

1. the gyproc around the holes is crumbling and I need a liner of some kind to secure the hole and which will give purchase to the spring clips to hold the downlights in a make a clean finish? Can I get these ready to fit or will I have to engineeer something?

2. All of the lights appear less bright than the ones I took out and the last of the 5 lights is flickering and sometimes goes out altogether. Help?

Thanks,

Steve

I do not no of any liner that can be fitted around the holes so you will have to make it up as you go.
GU10's are approx 20% less in light output(and more yellow than white) than the same rated LV downlighter. I personally hate GU10's
