| hello i am a new user here , i am looking for some help in wiring a hot tub that i purchased used. it is a 2000 diamante spa , the cover plate for the board list the amp rating as 30-40 amps. the tub does have an ozonator and lighting. i was planning on feeding this circuit from my panel in my garage from a double 220 breaker and running wire approx. 45 feet outside to my deck and utilizing a combo gfi/cutout box mounted near my spa as per code. i need to find out what gauge wire, what size of breaker in my panel, what amp rated gfi/cutout box to purchase. my local home stores only seem to carry 50 amp pool and spa boxes. i am a little confused as to why the amp rating was given as 30-40 amps instead of a definite number , and if the accesories on the tub such as the ozonator and lighting would push up that number. and would the 50 amp box be okay to use in this case. i just want to make it safe. my son in law is a licensed electrician and he will assist me. the manufacturer diamante has not responded to my inquiries for info. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, mike |
