| i have just started to decorate my spare bedroom after moving all the furiture out of the room i noticed that the floor is slitghtly springy in places, if you stamp your foot on the floor. I have checked the joists and although they are free from rot and wood worm a couple of them vibrate if you stamp on them. Is there anything i can do about this without having to rip everthing to peices. Im not very good at DIY so any advice would be good. The house is at least 120 years old so it is slightly wonkey |

Floors are quite often springy, so it depends on your judgement onsite.
You could possibly strengthen them by adding another joist alongside the existing ones, but this could mean taking large sections of the floor up.
Treat any new timber in fact I would treat the existing at the same time. |
