|
|
I know that roofs are now supposed to be ventilated whereas many years back it was thought best not to. On my roof the eaves fascia boards are currently unventilated although at some point this will change to vented type.
Whilst i am up in the loft at them moment (it is a loft conversion i am currently reinsulating and reboarding) i have noticed that the gap over the timber wall plate between each rafter has been well and truly stuffed with a foil backed fibreglass insulation material.
Should i remove this now which may allow some airflow around the roof at least as the eaves are bound not to be sealed all that well. Or should i leave it there, if so then why?
Thanks, Jamie. |

The more air movement you have the less moisture will accumalate in the roof void.
