|
|
Hi
We want to create a new bathroom at home which wil involve minor structural works, extensive plumbing and electrics. We also need some design input to incorporate practical touches in the bathroom like storage. What order do I need to do things in? Which trademan do I get in first? Would one of them coordinate the others or would I need a project manager? Would it be adviseable to get full architectural plans drawn up? Help - where do I start?
Thankyou |

The first job will be to get a builder to sort out building control, from then on it depends on your planning skills.
A builder will know all the trades and when to get them in, if you do it you could be holding him or other trades up which can attract a standing fee as the next bit isn't ready etc.
The cheapest way is for you to get all the trades sorted, but as I said it takes a lot of organising and can be a headache.
If you know a good tradesman and want to use him then put that to the builder. Nominated tradesman it comes under, and the builder will just take a percentage for builders work in conjuction with the tradesman.
hope that helps. |
