No crunch in my choc crunch

I like making chocolate crunch which we used to have at school but for some reason it never comes out crunchie like schools. Am I missing a vital ingredient. Ingredients I use is Self raising flour, cocoa, sugar, melted margarine and egg. Hope someone can help.

I use digestive biscuits. Place in a frezzer bag and crush with a rolling pin.
Kendle mint cake is good for a minty flavour crunch Very Happy
