Yes and No. &
Hot water will always rise therefore under normal conditions the hot water going in will traverse the radiator and go back out the other side leaving 90% of the rad cold.
What you have to do in this case is make a dip tube too the FLOW pipe going to the bottom of the radiator.
To be able to do this you have two choices as the connections MUST be on the top and not the top sides, Hudavad radiators will make a radiator with the tappings as required, alternative is to use a Stelrad on its side but this requires making or modifing the brackets.
To make a dip tube attach a length of 15mm copper tube to the inside of the threaded valve union ( must be soldered or brazed ) so as not to come out, and wants to be about 150mm from the bottom when fixed ( straight valves are better ) screw the nipple with the tube into the radiator and connect in the normal way.  |
