I have managed to cut through a supply wire to the downstairs fuse box at home whilst trying to lift one of the floor boards. Nice wee spark with all downstairs off. Upstairs running fine. Looking at the wire, there is a wee nick on one side.

I have switched off the supply at the fuse box...but I am thinking the wire I have cut is the supply from the mains to the fuse box.

I have electricians in on Monday (24hrs from now) to continue with a rewire job. Can I leave this til then or should I get an electrician out now or in a few hours ( daylight ) to repair my handiwork?

If it was the main incomer then it would have been a bit more than a wee spark.
If it is only the downstairs that is off then i presume the breaker or fuse has gone on the fuseboard.
If it has then the cable is dead and safe, just make sure you dont lose any frozen food in the fridge.
If you are at all unsure or the cable is accessable to young children then get it rectified ASAP.
If you want to talk about it use the link to my website and call the emergency number, advice over the phone is free.
