I have a new build house with a moderately-sized square garden at the back and I desperately need some advice on what to do with it! As it is a new house, there have been no green-fingered previous owners to guide the way, so it is a completely blank canvas. The only 'feature' is the hideous grey paving slabs the kind builders cemented into the ground leading from the back gate to the french doors. Apart from that, it's a desolate barren land which I have no idea how to populate! The garden also has a 30 degree slope from the back of the house. Can anyone offer any advice on how to get it designed and built on a very small budget? My partner and I work long hours, and would like a garden that is very very very very easy to manage and needs minimal attention.
Any advice gratefully received! |

Do as I do/did.
Ask around to see if an old retired gentleman would be interested in playing with it, for a few quid if neccessary.
neighbour of mine does all the work, grows things and gives me some and keeps what would be an environmentally friendly garden otherwise.
Because it keeps him active and he likes doing it.
