The flue from my AGA cooker has an 'H' chimney pot on it to prevent rain falling down. Unfortunately, fumes are blown down the legs of the 'H', causing deterioration of the mortar on the top of the stack, which requires annual renewal. I suspect acid 'rain' to be the culprit, how can I prevent it, so I do not need to renew the mortar every year.
