Taste watery unless you spice it up.

Sage and onion is nice.

I will post one of my favorite later.

Spicy fruit and nut.

2. tablespoon olive oil.
225g onions, peeled and chopped.
225g cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced.
½ level teaspoon each ground ginger and ground cumin.
¼ level teaspoon salt.
Freshly ground black pepper.
225g frozen peeled chestnuts (thawed).
115g ready to use pitted prunes, quartered.
115g ready to use dried apricots quartered.
115g mixed nuts, ( such as cashews, almonds or walnuts).
30g each sunflower and pumpkins seeds.
I marrow.

Drained, canned chestnuts or peeled and cooked fresh chestnuts can be used in place of frozen nuts.

1. Preheat the oven to 190c gas mark 5. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and soften the onions in it. Add the apples and cook for 2 minutes, then stir in the ginger, cumin, salt and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes, then mix in the chestnuts, prunes, apricots, mixed nuts and sunflower and pumpkin seeds, stir well.
2. Cut the marrow in half lengthways, scoop out the seeds and lay the marrow halves cut-side up in a roosting tin. Fill with the fruit and nut mixture, then cover the tin with foil.
3. Bake in the centre of the oven for 11/4-11/2 hours, or until the marrow is cooked through and the stuffing is moist and browned.
4. Serve hot or cold with a light salad of frisee lettuce and orange slices.

Serves 4, enjoy Cool
