Hi All!

just a quick question. the aerial on my Vaxhaul Astra has suffered at the hands of some amateur car repairer (read: vandal) Sad and has been snapped off at the base.
Is it possible to replace the aerial with any suitable looking "spare" from the local scrap yard? The Aerial is not electric, and I'm hoping the wiring involved is not too complex, is there any reason I can't just take one from more or less any car in the scrap yard, and just swap them over (as long as I can get it to fit on the body)?

many thanks

Wugoat.

They are more or less the same, doesn't your just unscrew at the body fitting, most do.

The tricky part orther wise will be getting the radio out.

The aerial just plugs in

thanks thescruff!

yeah, I'm hoping I can just unscrew the broken aerial from the body of the car, and replace it with a "new"-old one...

I was also hoping I could just attach the existing aerial wires to the new aerial (push fit fittings - oh please, oh please!! Laughing )

and just leave the whole radio end well alone...

As I said on most the springy bit unscrews leaving the bit still fixed to the body.
