I have bought a cheap pc, its a gateway, made in 2000 and is 900MHZ processor. I have 128 mb ram on it at the mo. I have 512 mb ram from another pc, is it possible for me to take this ram and place it into my new pc. What do i have to check for, is there a chance i will cause problems in the machine. thanks

It is possible to take ram and place it into a new pc.

The ram stick should have a speed "pc2100 etc" stamped on it. Try not 2 go to a slower speed than the first.

USUALLY if the old ram is incompatible, the pc won't boot... just go back to the first stick.

good luck
