I recently brought a pc with me from oz. I connected it up last nite. It powered up ok but the windows xp would not boot. It gave me a message on dos screen saying windows cannot start up, and gave me options to start in safe mode, safe mode with networking but none of them would start the windows. What do u think cud be wrong. I opened up the pc to c if any cables came loose but there were none. I m thinking the hard drive is damaged. If so what cud i do to rectify, also would i be able to extract items from the hard drive even if it was damaged.

If you have the XP disk you can recover the operating system and keep your data.
