Hello, I am new here looking to learn something about the rules governing clubs and associations (not gaming clubs / casinos)

I am on the receiving end of a committee decision to terminate my membership, this was done without my being aware that any action was being taken against me or being given the opportunity of presenting my own case.

It is alleged that I brought the club into disrepute contrary to the rules and club constitution though I can find no reference in the club rule / constitution book to such a rule ie not bringing the club into disrepute.

I am now trying to gain an insight into any rules / code of conduct that should be followed by club committees in such circumstances.

There is nothing in the club constitution covering disciplinary procedures.

Can a club committee once elected really do what they like? especially in a disciplinary sense.

I understood that there were recognised ways of dealing with disciplinary matters based on "laws of natural justice" can anyone clarify please.

I will be grateful for any assistance that can be given however please only reply if you are confident of your answer.
