Hi.
I'm having some building work done in the house and the builders have uncovered concerns over some previous work that was done by a different builder.
This other builder, who fitted a bathroom and kitchen, had taken shortcut after shortcut and used some dubious practises that I didn't know about at the time. Various problems that have occurred since the installation (which, to be fair, the firm did sort out pretty quickly) now look like they might affect the stability of part of our house.
So, my question is, is there a governing body that I can get involved to ensure that they don't worm there way out of things?
Many thanks in advance for any advice given.

Structural Engineer sounds like the best bet, they will advice on defects and remedial work.
