I am a care worker and do on calls (visit clients in an emergency) although I am paid for on calls they are voluntary. The company has now informed staff that all on calls will be compulsory - can they do this - we do not want compulsory on calls - have we any say in the matter. One of the bosses when told staff will walk was heard to reply then let them walk.

Probably yes they can.

You would need to discuss your terms of employment with a solicitor, but I wouldn't hold much hope.

The Company I work for has a new Director and is making changes that are not in the best interest of the Company as far as I'm concerned, the worse thing he will not listen to us dinasaurs that have been in the trade for 40 odd years.

The point is he seems to be able to do just what he wants, and we can like it or leave attitude.

I have a meeting in his office first thing Tuesday morning Laughing half a dozen other Companies have already been chasing me, so could be very interesting chat Laughing
