A gift to the value of £3,000 was given from a mother to her child 7+ years ago, due to a falling out this year and a breakdown in the relationship the mother is now trying recouperate the money claiming it was never a gift but a loan. There is no written agreement and only the word of the mother and the child. This may go as far as the small claims court what are the chances of the child?

I suggest you have a look up the CAB.

As i see it for what its worth.

A Loan has to be a written agreement/contract and signed by both parties, in this case the child simply says what money Cool

Deny all knowledge of it and let her proof the case
