Heres a new one - my header is heating up and lots of air is getting in to my radiators. I have inspected the header and the hot water is getting in not from the vent pipe but from the water feed pipe.
How is this possible?
The header is one story above the highest Rad, which is one story above the boiler. I must admit I have been bleeding the Rads when the pump has been on. Could this be the cause? |

Basically, water from rads for some reason is finding path of least resistance and going this particular route. Could be incorrect piping, faulty poorly sited pump, blockages. Difficult this one and it is something I would want to see and investigate for myself. Is it a new problem? How old is the system, has anyone done any work on it recently?
Really think that I have to suggest that it's time to call CORGIman. Sorry! |

Thanks Michael
I have changed the Radiators recently, in order to replace sludged up 15 year old one, I imagine the water is flowing more freely now and causing it to whizz round at such a rate as it finds its way up to the attic.
Thanks for your advice - I will call the CORGI man. |

If you had one sludged up radiator, the chances are that there are more, & more to the point you probably have sludged up pipework, I recommend you have a powerflush to your system....at least then if that doesnt cure the problem you have a good basis to start from |
