Does anyone know of, or has used a proper caulking, that DOES NOT crack, this is driving me mad........go round all the bits that need doing, finish the painting, stand back to admire your handy work......and there it is..............cracks on a lot of the caulking !!!!!
Really winding me up....tried all sorts of brands etc, so any help would be good, answers on a postcard to :-

Where are the cracks and are you raking the plaster out before filling

the fine cracks are in the corners...wall meets wall...or between coving and wall...or coving and ceiling.......Raking out plaster !!!!!! I am on about caulking not plastering...........

Nice one Laughing Obviously your not so that could be your problem.

Wall to ceiling should have been scrimed to stop the cracking.

Wall to wall, I assume it's butted up to an older/existing wall and not been fixed properly, you tell me I'm still fishing in the park and the christal ball is busted.

Single cracks however small shall be raked out with a scrapper and possibly sealed depending on the age and type of plaster.

Then if the hole wall has crazed then it's a plaster fault, even frost damage

OK.... lets start again......

By "caulking" I meant that flexible decorators filler you get in a tube and apply with a mastic gun to all those areas like above and below coving, along the tops of skirting boards etc etc before you emulsion the walls and ceilings......

Rake out and skrim !!!!!!! you are having a laugh !!!!!

So, starting again....... Does anyone know of a brand of "FLEXIBLE DECORATORS FILLER" that does NOT crack or peel after application ??

The ony reason it would crack is if there was movement in the wall.
I use DECORATORS CHOICE made by Akzo Nobel (01254 704951) and have never had a problem.
