I have moved into a new flat, the lounge has anaglypta wallpaper, which I've heard is difficult to remove, instead I thought I would paint it in a matt finish to tryand make the pattern less obvious (at the moment it's painted in slightly shiny paint!), however I've noticed on my test patches that the paint has tiny cracks all over it, and is covering badly even with two coats - has anyone any advice on what type of paint I should use, or any other suggestions on how to lose the anaglypta pattern - is it very difficult to remove the wallpaper?

Any advice would be great, Alice

Score the paper with a scrapper and the steam it off.
Had to do two rooms in my current house and didnt have a problem with it.
