I was wondering if it is possible to paint over black paint without sanding it off first. I am re-painting my bathroom door and don't really have the time to sand it.

Any response is much appreciated!

Lightly sand the door to rough up the surface. If your going to paint a light color I would suggest a quality primer before paint. This step is a good idea no matter what color. Apply two coats of paint and your done. You can get primers that dry pretty quickly so you can prime and first coat in one day.
