Last night my boiler began to whistle. It sounds like there could be air in the heating system but all my radiators are hot and do not require bleeding. Any ideas please?
By the way, it's not a combi.

How old is your boiler and do you live in an area that has a moderate - high limescale content. Also, does the boiler sound a bit like a domestic kettle when it is heating up the water?

The boiler is about 18 months/2 years old and I guess the limescale in our area is highish. It doesn't sound so much like a kettle, it actually sounds like there is a hive of bees living in it!!

I would still try to vent the rads. Let it cool down, make sure pump isn't running and vent rads. Outside possibility that you have a vibrating boiler casing, possibly noisy fan. There are many possibilties really and it is hard to make any real diagnosis without hearing it for myself. Sorry, will just have to say if venting rads doesn't work, either contact boiler manufacturers for advice or call in CORGI engineer.
