| Can I connect a 14 gauge to a 10 gauge wire. I am redoing my garage and the only wire in there is 10-2 wire. Can I take a 14-2 wire to expand off it? |

Not a good idea, you could overload the circuit. |

| NO!!!!! Never mix wire sizes in a circuit. Any wire added to a circuit must be able to carry the rated current of that circuit. # 10 is 30A, that #14 wire would fry with 30A. |
