Hello all, first time on here and I'm not a plumber, so bear with me if I get the naming of certain part wrong. I am trying to fit a rigid riser shower kit, but instead of useing the fixed shower head they provide, I would like to use one which I have previously had. On the delivered one. the shower arm / head unit has a connection to both the riser pipe and a wall plate at the top, with the shower arm itself sealed shut where it attached to the wall plate.
If I wish to use another shower arm, the only way I am able to connect this to the back plate and riser bar is with a chrome Tee. (Standard wall plate elbow no good as it would not keep the riser bar same distance from wall as when it leaves mixer.) So, the problem I have with the Tee, is that I only want the water coming up and along the shower arm side, not the side connecting to the wall plate.
I have been told that there may be something that exists called a blanking disk, which is simply a 15mm circle of aluminium which I would put inside the compression tee, which would effectively shut that exit off. However, I have been to three plumbing shops in the Winchester area, and none of them stock such a part, and are vague about it's existence. One even suggested that in the old days, a five pence piece would have been used for such a task!
So, could anyone help me on this, to confirm whether this exists and where I can buy one, or if not a possible solution to my problem.

Haven't a clue what your talking about with the shower, but the fitting you want is a ( fitting blanking plate ) Conex amongst others make them. call in to Plumb Center on the trading estate they have them.

They aint known for being to helpfull Sad

so go in when their not to busy, take the fitting with you and tell em you want to blank it off.

And re the shower, it's difficult for me to explain it properly.
