Usual method is to force water back up the pipe. Easiest place to try can be at washing machine taps. If you have hot and cold ones, connect together with a washing machine hose, and turn both taps on for say 10 seconds.

At bathroom basin, connecting the hot and cold taps with a hose can work, even though the cold is probably from the same loft tank as the hot. If that doesn't work, a hose from a garden tap or the kitchen cold to the bathroom hot may be needed.

Another method is to suck water down the hot pipe with an aquavac. There is a vent pipe in the loft which will let air in though. So try in short bursts of suck to try to get things going, or temporarily block off the end of the vent pipe (a thumb on a rubber glove can be an easy way to do that).

You could also try in the kitchen even if it's the bathroom tap which isn't working. If you have a mixer tap you can do it by holding the palm of your hand over the end and opening both taps. The cold mains pressure will try to squirt you in the face, but if you've got plumber's arms you will be able to hold it so the water goes back up the hot pipe.
