Hello,
This morning I was standing in my hall and heard a buzzing noise for acouple of seconds. Next thing I know hot glass was spraying everywhere because the light bulb in the celining light had exploded. Does this suggest I need to have the landlord get an electrician to take a look...or is it just a freak occurence that can happen from time to time.
Not sure whether this is connected but the hall light has two light switches and one of them only has the ability to turn the light on (and not off). The other switch turns it on and off.
Thanks,

The lamp was faulty where the glass meets the metal base which caused it to blow. The two-way wiring is wrong due to two wires being reversed, turn off the power then undo both switches, the switch that controls the light in question will have a three core cable feeding it(red, yellow, blue) these conections should be identical at both ends, I lay money on it that yours are not.
