I'm buying a new house and in about a week, we are supposed to move in. They have just hooked up the gas. As I looked around, my installation seems to be a quick and dirty method.
See figure .


The other houses are connected like this

I bought up this detail to my foreman and he told me that both methods are valids. I'm now trying to validate his statment. Any advice would be welcomed.

I didn't think flex couplings were allowed outside. Maybe it is our local code. Where are you??? Definetely does not look professional, but the inspector has the final say.
