I have no heat on my second floor. I replaced the circulator and it is working fine. The water as it comes out of the bolior starts out hot. But when it gets into the copper pipe to begin it's start up stairs it is luke warm. Mean while the steel/heavy pipe feeding the copper pipe from the bolior is very hot. I have gone crazy and purged the pipes several times. What do you think? Question

Hot water leaves boiler then onto pump. After the pump there are normally valves - electrically operated - which control this water and direct it around the system as required.

You said you have two zones so what type of valves control water flow around those zones.

My system does not work that way. The circulator is at the end of the line. It actually pulls water through the system. I am pretty convinced that I have an air pocket in the system that I havent gotten out. How do you boost water pressure

After filling did you operate the circulator for 5mins to purge remaining air from the bearing chamber.

And did you turn the isolating valves on.

When you replaced the circulator did you replace the whole unit or the cartridge.

Scruff can you explain how this system works. I understood the Taco 00 series was a form of circulator pump. So how can one have a zoned system if only a single one is fitted?

Cheers

It is technically possible to have two or more zones Alan.

I think what he means is the pump is on the return ( end of the line )?

The taco is a circulating pump with a changable cartridge, will send you a PDF doc.
