Hi there. I attempted to bleed one of my radiators, but once all the air was released, it wasn't followed by any water as usual. In fact the stopper was able to come all the way out.

Now the whole system has stopped working: no heat to the radiators or hot water. The boiler seems to be working as the pipe to the pump is hot. The pump is doing something but is making a strange whirring noise.

Can anyone advise any quick fixes to try? It's been suggested that it could be an air lock or that the pump may be sticking.

I'm, waiting for my landlady to organise a plumber but I don't know how long this will take and as there is snow outside I'm very cold Crying or Very sad

Can anyone help?

Have you got a small header tank because the ball valve probably stuck shut.

With a sealed system check the gauge on the boiler.

post back type of system and boiler-cylinder make and model.
