Gday,
We've decided to put in a new shower and bath at home (pumped), and (to cut down the cost of it) we are doing a bit of the legwork ourselves for the bits and pieces we need.

I'm interested to know if anyone has heard anything good/bad about the brands of some of the items we're looking at, i.e.

1. Grohe Grohtherm thermostatic shower valves (with a built in diverter for the bath - no taps)
2. Salamander pumps.

Cheers
Greg

All Grohe stuff is good, nightmare to work out the pictures sometimes but good.

What valve are you using the 3000/2000?

Salamander pumps have a good name but never fitted one.

Back to the shower valve it's important to use the right connection, as the bath diverter has no valve to shut the flow.

Thanks.
We're using the grohtherm 3000 as its only model with diverter as option. The model components (from the Grohtherm Specifier catalogue) are here and here.

Re: the bath diverter valve - as the diverter is built in to the model, isn't this implicit in the design?

We'll probably use a Grohe bath filler (here and here). I presume I don't also need a connector set?

There good fittings, as I said the port to the bath tap has no valve so if you get it wrong you cant turn the water off.

The connector set just make it easier but not necessary.

Thanks. I've just been recommended Stuart Turner as a pump brand - I gather these are very good.

Are they very loud when operating? We're on the top flat of a Victorian building, and noise is an issue.

Loud enough to be a problem on wooden floors.

Lay a paving slab on several inches of insulation material and stand the pump on the slab.
