| We added a bathroom in our basement. We added a oakey sure vent to the sink at the end of the run to help with venting even though we were told since we were 20 ft. from the main house vent we would be okay. After flushing the toilet within 30 minutes, the toilet bowl completely empties out. We t-ed off the sewer pipe under the cement floor and ran the line to the toilet, shower, and sink from there. Someone told me to try completely closing off the pipe top where the oakey sure vent was(getting too much air) and that didn't help. Then I tried leaving the pipe top open ( not getting enough air)and that didn't help either. Does hooking to the main vent to the roof cause better venting and why? Please help. |

| We were trying to find all the possible answers to our problem with the water draining out of bowl. Being a new bathroom we figured it was poor venting. The toilet we purchased was an Eliger. It was a defective bowl. There was a small hole about the size of a ball point pen tip in the back of the bowl. You could see someone had tried to cover up the mistake as it was well hidden. No more Eliger products for me. |
