I installed a ceiling fan in my son's bedroom, which is directly below the master bedroom. I used a metal electrical box directly attached to the ceiling/floor joist since everything I had read told me that was best. Well, now we can feel and hear the vibrations from the fan in our bedroom when the fan is on either high or medium, so my son has to turn the fan on low or off at night for us to sleep. Is there anything we can do to remove or lessen the vibration? Would a bar that spans the joists with the box in the center have been better, rather than directly attaching to the joist? Please advise as my husband wants to get rid of the fan altogether! Confused
