Hi,
I am not an electrician, however have some experiance wiring. I am currently wiring my basement and have done my pot lights (the usual black to black, white to white etc.) I have also taken downt the two basement lights and made one my tv plug because I am haning it on the wall and the other a light made into another plug.

My lights work just fine and my plugs work fine too. How do you know if they are not wired correctly? I am going to have an electician review my work prior to drywalling but wanted to know if there is a way to know if the wiring is incorrect.

Thanks,
Chris

Sorry this is so far from when you asked... I have been away... there is a little device that looks like a plug that you can pick up at the home improvement store to determine if your receptacles are wired properly... it has lights on it that light in combinations to let you know what is right or not with the wiring... it is user friendly and everything is marked on the gadget. Sounds like you made yourself a great get away in the basement!
