Is it possible to induce current in room wiring? What I mean is , we have a 60 year old home that has been added on to thru the years. The orginal fuse panel box is on a outside wall in the bedroom they moved and upgraded to 100amps and placed the panel in a utility room. The orginal house wiring was then run thru the wall to a conduit approx 5 feet long reentering the house. My power meter and mast are located next to where the house lines come thru the wall from the bedroom. So to save a couple dollars they ran the power lines from the meter thru a metal junction box thru the same 5 ft. conduit as the house lines to the new panel. I now know this is not only illegal but highly dangerous. This was just changed last week. I have owened this house 8 years and have had power bills thru the roof the whole time, summer and winter.The heating A/C, windows,refrigerator,gable-end fans,ducts and the appliances are all natural gas, hotwater,stove,dryer. I averaged last month 107 kwh per day in usage. My question is since the house circuits basically made a circle with one part of that circle running along side of the unsheilded power lines could those lines increase the power usage in my house lines?
