Now that summer's here should I turn off my central heating and hot water via the gas and just leave my imeersion on all the time or should I just use the hot water supplied from the gas? Trouble is I'm a bit confused because I was told that the immersion would give you hot water quicker and with three women in the house this can be a major problem!

Hi there,

We are using our emersion heater for hot water now that it's the Summer. If we use the water switch buy turning on the gas, the house gets a little too warm.

We don't leave the emersion on all day as it would be too expensive, but for two people we have it on for about a 45mins to and hour a day. That gives us enough hot water to both have showers and enough to wash up.

Depends on the system, if its fully pumped and the MV works ok then the boiler is by far the cheapest way.
