Lightning burned out my bulbs

We had an electrical storm with lots of lightning and some of our lightbulbs burned out simultaniously. Also, a new dimmer switch doesn't dim, but does turn on the fixture. I don't think we were hit by lightning. What would cause this? Thanks.

A spike in the incoming supply would cause it .
