Hello,

Hope someone can help with my problem..

I have recently had 3 new rads fitted, and the system flushed out. The stop cock in our loft was broken so waster was constantly overflowing out onto our roof, this has now been fixed. The plumber mentioned that he put in a copper pipe to divert some of the water, but I'm not sure if it was from the loft tank? Confused

The problem is that we now are unable to have any hot water by flicking the switch in our kitchen and have to use the emersion for hot water. When we turn on the switch in the kitchen, our bolier starts up and seems to be working fine, the heating works and we can feel the pipes getting hot under the floorbords, but there's no hot water coming from the taps. Could it be something to do with the pump??

We have a gas bolier:
E Type RS 60N (Series 5)
Electrical supply 200/250vAc
Single Phase 50Hz

Any feedback would be really appreciated!

Thanks!

Sounds like you may have a airlock, or the plumber forgot to turn the water back on.

Either way get him back

Thanks for your post!

Have tried to get him to come back but when he has said he'll come over he then doesn't show up.

Is there any way I might be able to see if he hasn't turned the water back on? Or if there is any way I can check to see if there is an airlock?

You could check the storage tank to see if it is full.

What pump are you thinking of.

I was thinking about the pump which is next to our boiler in the kitchen. Plumber mentioned it may need replacing soon..also, I thought if your system was flushed out and the pump wasn't disconnected, that might break it..? Not that he said that was the case.

Do you mean the storage tank where the emersion switch is? Should there be a gauge to tell this?

Yes, I think we have a small one. I'll get up there tonight and check if it's empty or full. Can I come back to you in the morning?

Many thanks

You don't want the small one you want the big one that feeds the cylinder.

The big tank in the loft has water in and seems to look fine. The smaller tank in the loft looks less full then it was when it was causing the leak.
