Hi,

Can anyone tell me whether or not it is permissioble to put gate valves (with turn handle still intact) on the central heating flow and return pipes just beneath the boiler.

I have been told various things from various parties ranging from this is inadvisable to this is highly dangerous and illegal.

Thanks

Just notice this post Shocked

Do you mean lever ball valves with turn handles or lockshield gate valves that don't have handles.

Any combi boiler I have seen has valves supplied with the mounting plate, also they have flow switches with will prevent the boiler working if there's no circulation through the HX.

I can't really see a problem at all, and if it's illegal I've installed a lot of illegal boilers over the last 49.4 years
