Hi,

I would describe myself as a competent DIYer and have installed electrical sockets etc with no problem however the lighting circuit confuses me lol Laughing

I have installed a new bathroom and have also installed an extractor fan with timer however do not want to attach to light switch as i do not want it to work when the light is on (i have young children who are in and out of the bathroom!)

I have installed an extractor fan switch in the airing cupboard outside the bathroom and have connected the "out" to the fan as stated.

I have connected the "in" from the switch into the junction box that connects the wiring to the light switch..... neutral to neutral, permanent live to live and does the switched live go to the load??? as this junction box does not have a load connection as it is for the switch - if so then i will have to connect to another junction box......

When i have wired it up the fan did start and run - however also only when light was on - not what i wanted.... i changed wiring and fan did not run but light worked however when fan switch turned on the light flashed in the bathroom !!!

Can you help me please - I have ooked my part p course but it is 3 months away !
